FAG company(FAG Kugelfischer Georg Schafer AG, Schweinfurt, Germany) was founded in 1883 in Germany by Frederic Fischer, who developed a special grinding machine for the mass production of precision bearing balls . After the death of Frederic Fischer, the company was acquired by another producer of balls - Georg Schafer, then the name of the enterprise known today appeared.

Currently, FAG is one of the world leaders in the production of ball and roller bearings for the automotive, aerospace, heavy industries, machine tool industry and a wide variety of engineering industries. FAG enterprises located in 25 cities around the world employ over 18,000 people.

At the end of 2001, a major German manufacturer of bearings, the INA group, bought more than 90 percent of the company’s shares. Since January 1st, 2002, FAG has been owned by INA Holding. Having become one, the new company has become the second largest in the world.

FAG is an exclusive supplier of bearings for many automotive concerns, including VW, Mitsubishi, Nissan, MWM and even Maybah. Now the production of bearings is established at 63 plants in different parts of the world. In total, the company's turnover for 1 working year is 2.2 billion euros.

In the FAG catalogs you can find the following: bearings of all types, ready-made bearing sets for cars specific models, non-standard bearings. The quality of the products is exceptionally high, which motorists have repeatedly noted. Moreover, some products from 2009-2011 are made in China - the quality of their performance is quite high, but still not the same as that of products from European plants.

Since FAG is a world famous manufacturer, its bearings are often counterfeited. It is important for buyers to pay attention to the following points: the packaging should be made of very dense cardboard and have an original design (a combination of red and white), there should be stickers with codes (a total of 3 codes for verification), the bearing inside the box should have a cellophane shell. The manufacturer’s name, country of production and the article are engraved or laser-printed on the inner ring of the branded bearing.
